Strangely, I’ve felt like I’ve been on both sides of this coin. Oh, sure, I’ve got a wild and crazy story to tell you about this one party I went to. And then, there’s this other time…where I drunk-dialed anyone in my cell phone’s roledex who would listen. *sigh* Human connection is a funny thing (and it’s no different for mosquitoes…at least, in my comic). Anywho, hope you are diggin’ the strip. I’m having a good time writing and drawing it.
I realize it’s still pretty raw. I’m trying to learn a thing or two about image optimization, so I can bring you better comics in less download time. We’ll see how all that goes. I’m not a technical guy at all, so the learning curve’s been a lot steeper than I expected. A good resource I discovered recently was How to Make Webcomics. The cats that wrote this book make some of the most successful webcomics out there, and I think it’s cool that they’re giving back and helping other aspiring webcomics artists. They also have a really funny podcast.
Thanks for the comments and feedback I’ve been getting. Without you, this just takes place in web-limbo. I appreciate the support, and I hope to keep one-upping my game each week. I’ve got some fun ideas to pursue. Next week, I’ll finally start a story arc. So far, each strip has been able to stand alone with that week’s joke or gag. My thinking now is that it’d be fun to develop some characters and give them something to do week-in and week-out. October’s right around the bend, and as much as I’d love to do a strip-a-day during the Halloween season, I’ll probably be settling for just the one strip on Halloween (which is a Friday…when I post!).
Currently listening to the totally free (and fun) The Raveonettes remixes. Anticipating the new tv on the radio album this next week. Aside from feeding my daily QC addiction, a couple webcomics I’ve discovered and am totally digging are: Minos the Minotaur and marksville. Both are a lot of fun! Until next week, (or sooner…I have a one-panel in mind maybe tuesday-wednesday-ish)…
Mind Eraser
1 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Kahlua
Splash of SodaBuild on ice in a rocks glass and drink through a straw. Then reread this recipe again to make your next one.
Cheers,
Lee
