This was actually a two-panel comic this week. I accidentally thought I had saved the comic to my flash drive & apparently, I did not, so I got to color and letter it twice. I know, “nice story, bro.” I’ll shut up now. While I’m not doing “No Shave November” this year, I salute the effort. Here’s about as shaggy as I’ve been. It’s probably about 8 years old. No idea what the pose was all about though.

Didn’t have the computer I usually use with Photoshop around, so I colored & edited this week’s comic using pixlr & Comic Life.

1 oz. Lime Juice
1 oz. Grand Marnier
1 tsp Maraschino Liqueur

For the first time in over two years of posting this comic, I missed my deadline. Well, not missed it, but was not able to post the comic to this website. The server that La Vida Skeeter runs off of was down yesterday. I posted the comic to twitpic and tumblr and linked to it from both the LVS facebook page & my twitter account. I also set up a backup tumblr in case this happens again in the future. Anyway, I know it’s not the end of the world, but it was extremely frustrating on this end. I’m a firm believer that if you pay for a service, it should work (call me crazy). Anyway, the weekend is here. Time to put the worries behind us & unwind a little. Here’s a drink & a toast: to the little webcomic that will not die no matter how many times you swat it. Also, a special thanks to the engineers at Yahoo for getting things back on track so quickly.

Neon-Geek Cocktail
1/2 oz. Whisky (bourbon)
1/2 oz. Citrus soda
1 oz. Beer (lager)
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with one cup of crushed ice. Strain into a margarita glass and serve immediately. (source)

I’m not altogether happy with today’s art. The eyes are kinda’ funky, but whatever, sometimes it’s just about getting things done more than it is about perfection. Sleepy today. We went to the taping of NPR’s Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me in Oklahoma City last night. Didn’t get home ’til around midnight, which when you work at 5am, is not the most fun turnaround. Great show! A lot of laughs. The episode that was taped should be on their site this weekend.

Speaking of the weekend, I hope you have some fun plans! Here’s a fun shot to get you into weekend mode:

24k Nightmare
1/2 oz. Goldschlager®
1/2 oz. Jägermeister®
1/2 oz. Rumplemintz®
1/2 oz. Bacardi 151 Rum®
Add over ice, shake & pour! (source)

P.S. Oktoberfest started over in Germany this week! O’zapft is! Here are some skeeters in lederhosen from last year’s Oktoberfest Week here at La Vida Skeeter!
